I understand when the sisters say that once you feel convicted, you will understand more. When I was coming to this understanding, I just couldn’t see the reason to cover my head at all times if it wasn’t written that way. So I did pray about it and exactly 1 week later, I received the holy spirit. Of course, at this point I felt the father moving me in this direction. But now that I’ve experienced what it’s like to dress this way for some time now, I realize and see what a protection it is to be covered. I no longer have to worry about men looking at me a certain way. They automatically know I am a holy woman just by looking at me. I don’t have to worry about my teenage daughter facing these things either because she is also covered. It truly has been a blessing and a peace of mind to me as a mother.

Great dialogue. Personally, my understanding is that the covering is honor unto YHWH and it is so FREEING! In the submission to YHWH, it takes away many previous struggles with vanity and takes the focus off of how I look to the world and more on how I look unto YAH. I am free to go unto the Father YHWH at all times in honor – no hinderances. Blessings family!

I’ll post the comment here too, for the difference of audience
Such an edifying video Pastor, Mothers and my sisters. Thank you for it!
As a young woman, mother, wife it helps. It also helps as someone who use to suffer with self hate and depression because of my looks. Knowing that the Fathers system is so flawless and protective that I am commanded to cover myself and my head, not only out of respect for my master (husband for people who confused 👀), it helped tremendously with knowing my self worth. That I am to cover myself I do not have the same “feelings” of hating my body because it is covered! I don’t have to worry about being compared to others because we aren’t thinking about that. We about our Fathers business. So thank you for his teaching!

My father is a Muslim and I have worn full Hijab etc. People do react differently on how you dress but, the underlying issue for disrespect for women just decides to manifest it in other forms that blatant cat calling etc. Also, I am new to learning the Bible and I use the King James version. I would like to ask the direct scripture in the Bible that mentions the exact attire a young woman like myself is to wear. In addition which individual in the Bible said, this Jesus or God Almighty himself. Godbless :)

According to Scripture, there is the Kingdom of Yah and then there is everything else including this idea of Hebrew culture that you promote which is nothing more than the Kingdom of Dowell. I am a child of the Most High Yah and a disciple of Master Yeshua Messiah. I have been grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel which by All Rights makes me an Israelite. I obey the laws or instructions of Yah. My objective is not to copy Hebrew or any interpretation thereof including yours. My objective is to identify with Yeshua and live a lifestyle based on His teachings. As I abide in His teachings, I essentially become the fleshly manifestation of Him to my world and that includes having a humble spirit and a desire to serve. I’m pretty sure everyone outside of your influence would agree that you have a spirit of pride and that you tend to exploit people to enrich your own kingdom rather than to serve and seek the kingdom of Yah first. I am calling you out to repent. What does it profit a man if he accumulates land and women and loses his own soul. I am as certain about what I write here as I am anything

I think that is great😃 do not have to get expensive weave, and not compete against other women’s hair texture! Not be concerned about your hair. Do more important things in life😊 imagine how much money you’ll save💰

Mrs. Dowell (#1), to your point about hair as a covering for a man that you feel “doesn’t add up”: Consider that long hair is indeed a natural covering, even a glory, for women as scripture states. A man is not to have long hair, a man is not to cover his head in this way unless he has a vow w/ Yah or is in a religious sect for Yah. Long hair is not to be a man’s covering. Short hair is not the covering, long hair is the covering. Yes, men have hair but not long hair (there are a few exceptions, of course). The natural covering of long hair does not apply to men b/c simply just having hair on ones head is not a covering, long hair is the covering. Short hair is not considered a covering. The issue is not about hair in and of itself, no, the issue is long hair being a covering for women. Christ is man’s covering, not their hair. This is not to say a man cannot wear a Tallit/Tzitzit.
Dowell, Rebekah put on a veil at an approaching man (who she learned was Isaac) b/c she was to be betrothed/married to Isaac. This was to preserve his honor and announce she is the bride, she accepts him as a husband which is what the veil on the face means. She did not wear the veil with the other men around, only when Isaac was approaching. Where did she get her veil? The veil was a legal sign of marriage acceptance in the Eastern culture back then, so it is likely she brought the veil with her b/c she was collected as Isaac’s bride, including gifts/supplies fit for marriage. She knew she was getting married and the veil was an official statement of acceptance back then.
Consider the woman who washed Yeshua’s feet w/ her hair. This was in front of other men. Consider the pagan who was required to remove her covering so as to strip her of femininity. This is cultural, not “Israelite”, necessarily.
Consider that it is the prostitute who covers her head & veils her face when not married or accepting a groom. There is a time for these things; a season. When done out of order, out of season, it can be culturally confusing – prostitution is out of order. The women of the congregation are to remain in the proper order.
Dowell, If it pleases an American born bi-racial (European/black) husband ( like you) in America when his wife, also born in America, covers her hair w/ cloth in the presence of other men, it is an honor to him should his wife choose to do this for him; this is an earthly blessing to you as your wives do this for you. However, wives cannot be condemned, brought before the courts of heaven, if she chooses not to grant this to her husband. In fact, Yeshua will be standing in the high court as her defense. A wife’s obedience to her husband is in Christ. A husband cannot condemn her on this matter AND have Christ as his head in so doing. In other words, it’s on you, w/out Christ covering you while you try to condemn your wife (hypothetically).
A woman is not w/out Christ just b/c she is married. A woman can receive the Holy Spirit, married or not, and a woman is with Christ, married or not. Surely you know this fact. If a man is acting in his flesh, a woman is to obey Christ. Husband is not the wife’s mediator to Christ. A husband does not stand between wife and Christ. Christ has a direct spiritual connection w/ the wife thru The Holy Spirit. How could she be a proper helpmeet if this was not so? She couldn’t! A wife lovingly (not fearfully, not haughtily) helps the husband see if he is in the flesh and if the man refuses to humble himself to Christ, tries to force his will on his wife, the man is in error against Christ. The wife is not in error. A husband cannot interfere with the connection between wife and Christ; that is not what the proper order of headship means. I don’t say this to educate you as much as to reveal to others reading this post that an understanding of proper order/headship and proper relationship is required, else one becomes tyrannical and against Christ.
Hair covering (with cloth) is an earthly matter for the woman; however, it IS a spiritual matter for a man. A woman will not be judged for cloth on her hair. It is the man who has been instructed by Torah, by Yah, on head coverings for his head. It is the man who is restricted in this matter, not women. Women will be received by Yeshua, cloth on their hair or not. This is not a matter of salvation.
Paul did not add to Torah; Paul addressed natural cultural norms, proper manifestation of authority and proper order in the congregation due to the lack thereof. Women trying to take on a role of men all b/c women do have liberty & freedom in Christ, even when married, was an issue; abusing or confusing a woman’s liberty/freedom. It was out of order. Israelite men are not to lord over their wives as the pagans did at that time but wives are to respect proper order in their liberties & freedoms in Christ (that pagan women did not have at the time) and headship. Married women w/ the freedom & liberty given to them in Christ must still maintain proper order and headship within the congregation; Paul had to address this matter.
The “Book of Gad”, “Gospel of Thomas”, “Apochropha,” “Josephus” and the “Book of Enoch” are not the Torah. The Spirit of Torah and the written Torah do not require cloth hair coverings for women. Pagans covered their hair and wore veils; it is meaningful custom and culture, even legally binding in man’s law/custom. The Bible is trustworthy just the way it is, no need to add/take away from Torah or the Brit. There is enough history, culture and understanding of language to navigate biblical meanings, background/culture & concepts. The Most High has protected the word. It is up to us to study and discern the truth, it is not hidden from us when we have The Holy Spirit. Man gets into trouble when they lean on their own understanding. The Bible is fine.
Cloth hair coverings neither condemn nor redeem us. Salvation is not judged on this matter. Likewise, women who choose to keep long hair; choose to cover their hair w/ cloth, are not to be judged by those who don’t participate in this cultural outward statement, either. There is nothing wrong w/ choosing to cover one’s hair w/ cloth or for a married woman to braid her hair up. There are many benefits to the practice. It is still custom for a few Eastern cultures (and European and even Americans) for married women to be covered in a headress when in public. The headress is braided hair in an updo, which may or may not be covered in cloth. In non- Semetic American & European sects, the braid is often covered in cloth. We see this subject in the Bible where the Priest removes a married woman’s updo to loosen her hair when she is suspected of adultery. This is commanded by The Most High as a sign and process of “uncovering”; “exposing” her sin. This also happens to a pagan woman in the Bible, it is not strictly just Israelite women.
Braided hair is a cultural act of a married woman, it is not specifically Israelite. This is why many Semetic, non-Semetic European & non- Semetic American sects require only the married women braid their hair up and cover their hair in cloth or a wig (Semetic) in public. Some customs even call for the groom-to-be to be the first one who braids her hair.
For a woman to ‘release her braid’ for another man is a sign of adultery. For the Priest to release a married woman’s braid in front of other men, to have her hair be exposed in this way (as we see in the Bible), is an exposure that is embarrassing, even for a pagan woman. It would be embarrassing for married European & American sect members today as well.
Western, European & American women have worn head coverings for hundreds of yrs, on American soil. They also bust out in spontaneous prayer in the middle of working. Your group has adopted a culture that is not foreign to the historic soil & culture of America. America’s historic women covered their hair; European, African, Latino, Asian, Arab, Semites, etc. The recent generations in America do not know this culture as much, except for some European & American sects who still practice hair coverings. This custom is not foreign. Culture is in the Bible, it doesn’t make it commands nor instructions (Torah); it’s simply culture, outward expressions of order. Culture has meaning & Yah will use it as He see’s fit. He allows culture, even uses it to teach.
A woman can be a good wife, wholesome, Godly, modest, righteous, of good character, set apart in Christ with or w/out cloth on her hair.
Do not men “pray w/out ceasing”? I wonder how ya’ll interpret what that passage actually means.
This is my understanding on the matter.
