Tehuti: Sankofa, Fa and Ifa – Male Deity of Divine Wisdom and Divination in Akan, Ewe, Fon & Yoruba
In this episode of AKANFO NANASOM – Ancient Authentic Akan Ancestral Religion, we examine our book: Tehuti: Sankofa, Fa and Ifa – Male Deity of Divine Wisdom and Divination in Akan, Ewe, Fon and Yoruba.
Our publication is the first to properly identify Sankofa not only as an Akan adinkra symbol, but as the Obosom (Deity) of Divine Wisdom and Divination – Tehuti. We also demonstrate the relationship to Sankofawaa the Female Obosom (Deity) of Divine Wisdom and Divination popularly called Seshat. We are the first to elucidate the origin of the Sankofa adinkra symbol as an expression of the Obosom (Deity) Het Heru in the medutu (hieroglyphs) – the sanctuary wherein conception takes place monitored by Tehuti and Seshat.
We also elucidate the cosmological foundation of Tehuti as the Obosom of Divination and how He manifests in Akan, Ewe, Fon and Yoruba cultures. This includes our expressions in North america – Hoodoo (Akan), Voodoo (Ewe, Fon) and Juju (Yoruba).
